Friday, November 30, 2001: The BIG MOVE! (Page 2)

1:06 PM: The trucks (wheels) are free and are ready to be taken away ... the caboose is being secured to the low boy.





While we're loading everything, a Wisconsin Central freight train speeds by on the main line ....

The low boy maneuvers the caboose off the siding and onto the side street.

Kirk climbs on top to move the "skids" for the powerlines and to measure our height: we're 17.5 feet tall!

2:45 PM: Finally ... we're on our way down the highway!

3:15 PM: Less than a half hour and we arrive at the new home for the caboose! Despite the height, only two powerlines come close to the top of the caboose ... and they simply slid over my handy, dandy skids ... take THAT Dunn Electric! After we arrive, Kirk, John and I survey the tracks to try to determine how to maneuver the truck.

Meanwhile, the caboose starts backing into the driveway with help from my neighbor Dale .....
